Everything has its own vices and virtues. Even matters such as “outfits to wear to work” have long and stringent lists of dos and don’ts. But in the world of fashion and trends, the don’ts aren’t as highly emphasized as the dos. This is unfavorable because it brings forth for us many ambiguities. Which colors are most captivating, what cut looks most appropriate and which print is most appealing, are fundamental questions we ask ourselves whenever 7am brings forth for us, the tedious task of getting ready for work.
It would be an arduous endeavor, to discuss all the ways in which an corporate clothing perth can qualify as a success due to the intricacies associated with each one. But to make it easier for you and ourselves, we have decided to list down all the outfits that you must never wear to a workplace.
Gym attire
Yoga pants, tracksuits, sweat shirts, trousers, sports bras and tank tops are all examples of gym wear. It is designed to be casual and comfortable in terms of fabric, shape and utility. It is made to be worn for exercise and to run everyday errands. Thus wearing gym attire to a corporate office is an offense to the building, the professional work it does, and also to the environment. So cross this option out of your designated-for-work wardrobe.
Ripped jeans or ripped clothes
No matter how al mode that ripped piece of clothing is, you cannot wear it to a work-place. It looks informal and carefree in a place where you’re paid to look sophisticated and diligent. Ripped clothes are this big “no” for the business world. The “no’s” include, ripped jeans, ripped light wash denims, ripped shirts, sweaters and jackets etc.
Overly colorful and sparkly clothes
In the fashion world, some of these choices would be considered bold and debonair but in the corporate world, they would seem eccentric and misfit. The entire concept of a workplace is to labor together to achieve a unanimous purpose. Somehow, this ideology reciprocates with the attire of the workforce. Alas, sequins, glitter, shimmer, bright colors and animal prints are all considered improper.
Revealing clothes
Be it length, cut or fabric, clothes that put too much of your body on display are highly discouraged. Plunging necklines, see through garments, short and tight dresses or skirts: they’re all considered inappropriate in the work field. They exhibit a lack of professionalism because they have the ability to misdirect attention.
Any garment with printed statements and flip flops
Appropriate silk and chiffon shirts that are otherwise perfect for work wear are often covered with explicit statements and logos that are viewed as provocative and coarse. Thus, employees are persuaded to not wear such garments to work even though they may hold personal loyalties to the messages. The preferred attire should be plain or with small delicate prints. Flip flops are another work wear malfunction that must be consciously avoided at all costs.
